چکیده

tin concentration of only 1 μg/mL to minimize false-negative results. However, some colistin-susceptible organisms might grow on MHC1 (<5% in our study), resulting in the low PCR-positive rate for mcr-1 among isolates. Exact epidemiology of the mcr-1 gene is unknown, indicating a need to conduct accurate surveillance of the gene’s prevalence in humans. Additional mechanisms unique to the mcr-1 gene may contribute to colistin resistance, suggested by the wide variation in colistin MICs among mcr-1–carrying Enterobacteriaceae.

(9). Although these autoantibodies have not been reported in patients with Listeria infections, susceptibility to infection caused by this bacterium is increased in GM–colony-stimulating factor –/– mice (10). Autoantibodies against GM–colony-stimulating factor or perhaps other cytokines might have impaired the patient's host defense against these organisms; unfortunately, our report is limited ...

OCULAR COMPLICATIONS CAUSED BY Cryptococcus gattii AFLP4/VGI MENINGITIS IN AN IMMUNOCOMPETENT HOST

The Cryptococcus gattii complex has been recognized as an endemic pathogen since the 1990s and has caused multiple outbreaks since then. Cryptococcal meningitis (CM) is a globally occurring invasive mycosis associated with significant morbidity and mortality, including papilledema and visual loss. We present a case of CM caused by C. gattii sensu stricto (AFLP4/VGI) that was complicated by visu...

Meningitis Due to Cryptococcus gattii in an Immunocompetent Patient.

The incidence of cryptococcal infection is high in developing countries such as India. Cryptococcus gattii, formerly known as Cryptococcus neoformans var gattii, is an encapsulated yeast that causes disease in both immunocompetent and immunosupressed individuals. The organism enters via respiratory tract and causes a spectrum of illness ranging from asymptomatic infection to severe illness, inc...

Pulmonary cryptococcal infection presenting with multiple lung nodules

Pulmonary infections from the environmental fungus Cryptococcus gattii (C. gattii) are notable for cryptococcomas, which are usually solitary and can be very large. As with infections with Cryptococcus neoformans (C. neoformans) patients can have concomitant cryptococcal meningitis; however, unlike for C. neoformans, infections with C. gattii often occur in immunocompetent patients. The highest...
